Professor Gordon Hush has been announced as Scottish Design Awards Judge
Professor Gordon Hush, Director of the GSA Innovation School, has been announced as one of the 12 strong judging panel for the prestigious Scottish Design Awards 2023.
The line-up also includes Heather Claridge, director of design at Architecture & Design Scotland, who will be seeking projects which ‘successfully respond to local context and needs’ and ‘creatively reuse existing assets and support a strong sense of place’.
Among those overseeing the design categories is Cat Leaver, head of brand and global marketing at VisitScotland, who is seeking entries that ‘surprise, delight and challenge’.
The Architecture Panel is as follows: Heather Claridge (director of design, Architecture & Design Scotland); John Glenday (publisher, Urban Realm); Akiko Kobayashi (founder Akiko Kobayashi); Shelley McNulty (head of design, Manchester School of Art and partner at McNulty Architecture & Design); Alistair Scott (co-founder, Smith Scott Mullan Associates); and Andy Summers (co-founder Architecture Fringe).
The Design Panel line-up comprises: Hiten Bhatt (head of design at Rapp UK); Rod Gillies (brand director Whyte & MacKay and chair of the Marketing Society in Scotland); Prof. Gordon Hush (head of the innovation school, the Glasgow School of Art); Cat Leaver (head of brand and global marketing at VisitScotland); Jessica Sherratt (head of UX, Code Computerlove); and James Simpson (design director, Love).
Scottish Design Awards are supported by Urban Realm, The DRUM, NorDan, Vision Events Glasgow, Porcelanosa Scotland and Rock Rose.
