Elio's research is an exploration into new visual and three-dimensional design vocabularies for thinking about ethical and social issues in the sciences, and it aims to contribute to the ongoing methodological debates in the sociology of emerging scientific knowledge. He is the co-author (with Prof Gordon Hush) of the forthcoming edited volume 'Design Beyond the Human: Transdisciplinary Conversations About the Planet' (Bloomsbury, 2023). His contribution to practice-based research has been recognised with the acquisition of his projects in the permanent Design collection of MoMA New York. Elio is also the Course Lead of MDes Design Innovation & Citizenship.
